Abstract

A rapid, simple, sensitive, and accurate high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method has been developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of 6-gingerol, 8-gingerol, and 10-gingerol in three medicinal gingers. The chromatographic separation of three gingerols was achieved within 4 min on a sub-2 µm particles column. Gradient elution was performed using acetonitrile-water as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The injection volume was 2 µL, and the detection wavelength was set at 280 nm. Validation studies revealed that the method was reliable and reproducible for the simultaneous quantitation of the three gingerols in three medicinal gingers.
