Amino Acid N-Dimethylaminomethylene Alkyl Esters. New Derivatives for GC and GC-MS Studies

Abstract

Dimethylformamide dialkylacetals react both with carboxylic and amino groups of amino acids to form N-dimethylaminomethylene alkyl ester (N-DMAM-alkyl ester) derivatives. Complete and rapid reaction was observed at 100[ddot]C. Under these conditions, hydroxyl groups did not react.
