Abstract

Methods are described for the spectrophotometric determination of vitamin A (0.15–12.5 μg) using iodine as the chromogenic reagent. The reaction is most sensitive in chloroform. Vitamin D2 and ß-carotene do not interfere if the analysis is carried out in 1, 2 -dichloroethane.
