Abstract

A solid state oxalate sensor is reported utilizing a commercial ion-selective electrode, the SelectrodeTM. Comparative measurements in aqueous solution of similar carboxylate ions and common inorganic anions, indicates appreciabl'e selectivity for oxalate. The SelectrodeTM was activated with a mixture of silver sulphide, lead sulphide, and lead oxalate.
