Salicylaldehyde Isonicotinoylhydrazone (SAIH) as a Specific Analytical Reagent for the Selective Extractive Spectrophotometric Determination of Molybdenum (VI) in Presence of Several Cations

Pages 107-113 | Published online: 03 Jan 2007

Abstract

An extraction study of 36 cations with SAIH into isoamyl alcohol in the presence of EDTA, ascorbic acid and IN HC104 showed that only Mo(VI) gave a stable yellow colored complex extractable into the organic phase. This effect was used for the selective extractive spectrophotometric determination of Mo(VI) in the presence of other tested cations.
