ABSTRACT

A reduced graphene oxide–gold nanoparticle composite was synthesized and characterized by the X-ray diffraction and microscopy. Modified carbon paste electrode was fabricated from the film of the composite. Adsorption of melamine on the composite material was characterized by scanning electrochemical microscopy. Melamine was determined by probing the decrease in the oxidation of ferrocyanide on the modified carbon paste electrode. An analytical method for the determination of melamine has been proposed using the modified electrode. The detection limit of the method was 2.23 µM.
