Abstract
The conditions of neomycin extraction were studied in pharmaceutical oral suspensions to permit its determination by spectrophotometry after reaction with 2, 4-dinitrofluorobenzene. The best recovery of neomycin was obtained with centrifugation employing water as the extraction agent. The spectrophotometric analysis was carried out in 0.02 M borate buffer (pH 9.0), under ambient conditions after 50 minutes of reaction. The absorbance of the yellow product was measured at 365 nm.
