Abstract

A spectrochemical method Tor analysis of micro-impurities in ultrapure iodine was developed. The method Included a preconcentration of the impurities in a collector by a vacuum sublimation. A mixture of carbon powder and sodium salt of diethyldithiocarbamic acid (Na-DEDTC) was found to be the best collector for the purpose. The concentrated elements were determined by AC arc emission spectroscopy. The method makes it possible to determine 20 elements in ultrapare iodi-no with detection limits of 10−6 to 10−8 percent and relative standard deviations of 0.07 to 0.22.
