Abstract

In this study, determination of niclosamide and thiabendazole in their binary mixture was realized by precipitating thiabendazole with ammonium reineckate at pH:3 selectively and reading the absorbance of the solution of the precipitate in acetone at 525.0 nm for thiabendazole and by measuring the dA/dΔ values at 405.8 nm in the first derivative spectra of the remaining solution for niclosamide. The relative standard deviation of the method was found to be 1.16 % for thiabendazole and 0.75 % for niclosamide. Recoveries were found to be 100.1 % and 98.8 % for thiabendazole and niclosamide respectively. The method has been succesfully applied to a tablet containing thiabendazole and niclosamide.
