Abstract

Agarose immobilized DNA samples suitable for pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) were prepared by lysis of immobilized cells followed by disruption of DNA-protein complexes with denaturant and detergent solutions. The electrophoretic pattern of samples deproteinized by this method were identical to samples treated with the fungal protease Proteinase K.
