Abstract

The indirect fluorescent antibody (IFA) test was applied to dried blood samples collected on filter papers for the diagnosis of leishmaniasis in Iraqi children. Out of 4142 children examined, 156 (3·8%) had antibody to Leishmania. The highest rate of infection (4·5%) occurred in children aged one to five years.
