An application of babuska-brezzi's theory to a class of variational problems

Pages 297-303 | Received 01 Jul 1999, Published online: 02 May 2007

Abstract

In this paper we apply the Babuska-Brezzi theory to obtain new results on the solvability and Galerkin approximations of some operator equations arising in linear and nonlinear variational problems with linear constraints. This constitutes an extension of the usual theory to a class of variational formulations that can be written in a dual-dual form
