Abstract
The Group Properties and the associated Lie Algebra are developed for the equations of motion of the unsteady two-dimensional flow of a non-Newtonian fluid in cartesian coordinates. Then by using the full one-parameter infinitesimal transformation group and its subgroups a number of exact solutions are obtained.
