Abstract

In this paper, we study the scattering of time-harmonic acoustic waves by an inhomogeneous penetrable obstacle in a stratified medium. By using the integral equation method, we prove the uniqueness and existence of solutions for the acoustic scattering by an inhomogeneous penetrable obstacle in a stratified medium. We then establish the mixed reciprocity relation which plays an important role in the inverse scattering problem.
