Blow-up behavior for a degenerate parabolic systems subject to Neumann boundary conditions

Abstract

The degenerate parabolic systems dealt with in this paper are as follows: {y(u)t=(|u|ru)+f(u,v,|u|2,t),z(v)t=(|v|sv)+g(u,v,|v|2,t),xΩ,t(0,t),uν=0,vν=0,xΩ,t(0,t),u(x,0)=u0(x),v(x,0)=v0(x),xΩ¯, where r and s are two positive constants, spatial region ΩRN (N2) is bounded, and Ω is smooth. The conditions that make the solution (u,v) blow up at a certain finite time t are obtained. An upper bound of t and an upper estimate of the blow-up rate of (u,v) are also derived.
