Abstract
A new fractional step method is considered, which deals with parabolic equations when the partial differential operator includes crossed derivatives. Examples of semi and full timediscretization are given; the method is then described in an abstract framework, and the strong convergence of the approximating functions to the exact solution is proved through a priori estimates obtained from energy equalities
