Pages 169-180 | Published online: 02 May 2007

Abstract

AMS (MOS): 34A15, 34A40, 34C35

In this note we obtain some new necessary and sufficient conditions for the continuability of solutions in the future of the Liénard system . The arguments used to obtain the continuability of solutions are based on an analysis of the growth of solutions in various regions of the Liénard plane which are obtained from the behavior of F(x). Assumptions are given in terms of various growth properties on F(x) and g(x).
