Exact decay estimates for solutions to semilinear parabolic equations

Abstract

Consider the nonlinear parabolic equation in a cylinder with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions on ▽ω. We show that the L 2-norm of u is equivalent to C t −1/(p−2) where C is a constant which can be related to an “eigenvalue” of the p-laplacian. This results is also generalized in various directions.
