Regularity of solutions of the thermistor problem

Abstract

The nonstationary thermistor problem is a system of equations which describes the combined effects of heat and electricalcurrent flows in a conductor. We prove the regularity of the solution to this system, which solves a problem suggested byChipot and Climatti [3]. For the solutions of a parabolic equation with a source in , a Hölder estimate is obtained by using heat a potential analysis.
