A counterexample to a conjecture on the global asymptotic stability for liénard equation

Pages 207-212 | Received 20 Mar 1994, Published online: 20 Jan 2011

Abstract

The equation

is considered. It was conjectured [I] that the condition is necessary for the global asymptotic stability of the zero solution. By the use of the Poincard-Bendixson theorem and the LaSalle invariance principle, a counterexample is given to this conjecture.
