Abstract

The inverse scnttcring problem for an acoustic wave guide is considered Thc wave guide is covered by an ice cover, which is modeled by a thin elastic plnte. The aluthors prove that the eigenfunctions of the Sturum-Lioiville problem in the cross- section from a basis of an appropriate llilbert spac. Using the eigenfunctions, the authors construct the out- going Green's function for unperturbed ocean, which is important in discussion of inverse problems, The uniquness of the solutions for the inverse problem is proved for all frequencies except for a discret sct. An algorithm of recconstruction of the scatterer is presented.
