Wave propagation in a 2-D external domain with cuts

Abstract

The Dirichlet problem for the 2-D Helmholtz equation in an external domain with cuts is studied. The existence of classical solution is proved by potential theory. The problem is reduced to the fiedholm equation of the second kind, which is uniquely solvable.
