Solvability of the two-dimensional kelvin-neumann problem for a submerged circular cylinder

Abstract

We study the linear two-dimensional problem on the steady flow of infinite depth about a submerged circular cylinder moving uniformly under the free surface of an ideal, incompressible, heavy fluid. The theorem on the unique solvability for an arbitrary velocity of the undisturbed flow upstream is proved.
