Abstract
It is our pleasure to dedicate this volume of Applicable Analysis to Heinrich Begehr on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday. Heinrich Begehr was born in Halle on the river Saale in Germany in April 17 1939. Until 1949 he lived in the vicinity of Halle and later in Thüringen near Altenburg and after 1949 in Berlin. In 1950 he began high school in Schleswig. In 1955 his family moved to Braunshweig where he graduated from the “GaubSchule” in 1959 During the winter term 1960/61 Heinrich began to study mathematics and physics at the Freie Universtität Berlin. In Spring of 1966, he received the M. Sc. in mathematics with Prof. Dr. Alexander Dinghas. Two and a half years later Heinrich obtained the Ph.D. degree also with Professor Dinghas as the thesis advisor. The thesis was titled
