Abstract

The Unopette micro method for capillary blood sugar screening used in conjunction with Auto Analyzer processing was developed by the Vermont State Health Department several years ago for community and industrial screening. Practicing physicians soon became interested in this technique resulting in the development of the Unopette Physician Office Diabetes Screening Program. Eighty-two participating physicians submitted 9,192 screening samples to the Health Department Laboratory for processing during January through December, 1968. This rapidly growing service program has been extremely well received by practicing physicians throughout the state.
