Susceptibility of Inbred Mouse Strains to Ozone

Abstract

Inbred strains of mice vary greatly in their response to lethal levels of the oxidant air pollutant ozone. In at least one case, this variation in susceptibility is inherited as a dominant characteristic. The relative susceptibility of mouse strains to lethal levels of inhaled nitrogen dioxide appears to be similar to that of ozone.
