1 The original Facebook conversation that has been abridged to make up part A of this article was nearly 30 pages. The selections included in part A were loosely edited based on which of the original Facebookers wanted to participate in this project. By opening up participation in this article to every Facebooker in Anna Nichols's original thread, Lucero aimed to transfer the tenor of the conversation from the Internet to the printed page. That is why the Facebook thread presented in this article ebbs, flows, deviates, and self-regulates much like a Facebook conversation thread. The original thread can be viewed at http://tinyurl.com/j4hx26j

2 Bricolage is a mode of working most famously identified by CitationClaude Levi-Strauss (1962) and taken up by artists since then. A bricoleur is someone who works with whatever they have at hand, mostly because they do not have a choice.
