Abstract
My hope is that this will happen more and more. Feminism as an aspect of humanism applies to everyone. There are questions of essentialism which I adhere to. An example is the wonderful joke told to me recently: “Why does it take 500,000 sperm to fertilize one egg? Because they won't stop for directions.” Of course, there are socialized differences. Women often speak to women differently than they talk to men. But women who have been reeducated to academic speech can hold their own with men who do the same. Women who love sports can easily do sports talk with men.
