STOCKING COUNTS IN PINUS RADIATA PLANTATIONS AT MOUNT CRAWFORD FOREST RESERVE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Pages 121-123 | Published online: 15 Apr 2013

SUMMARY

A method of calculating the stocking per acre per compartment, which largely eliminates personal' bias with a coefficient of variation of under 7 percent. in the data, was devised by sampling up to 20 per cent. of the rows.

This was possible because the small 10-acre compartments were regular in shape and stocking, and the site quality reasonably constant in each compartment.
