Pages 59-62 | Published online: 15 Apr 2013

SUMMARY

The subject is dealt with on a broad national basis. In Australia, forestry for the most part is a function of State Governments, and one of the principal concerns of forest authorities is am assurance of adequate funds regularly year by year. The extent these can be met by revenue from the sale of standing timber is discussed and a suggestion is made for the establishment of a stabilizing fund by the Commonwealth Government from revenue it receives from tariff on timber and timber products.
