HANDLING AND STORAGE OF POLLEN IN EUCALYPTUS BREEDING

SUMMARY

Germination of Eucalyptus pollen in vitro is successful, using i.5% gelatine In 20% sucrose and incubating for 6 hr at 30°C.

Variability in pollen germination, both within species and within a single tree, bas been examined.

Deep-freeze storage at—16 °C is successful, and field collection and transport are described.
