National wood supply projections: the possibilities for increased precision through a regional approach

The coverage of existing computer-based forest models is considered within the FOR WOOD regional framework as a basis for increasing the precision of national wood supply projections. Avenues for further regional forest modelling are identified as necessary prerequisites for improved supply projections. Regional data on costs, site productivity and management intensities are also seen as being of major importance.
