2. There was the promise a few years ago of an oral history project (Stratford Citation2001), but as yet nothing has appeared from it.
3. Contact with one of the editors indicates that a chapter on geography was originally planned for (there are 12 on economics, 11 on political science, and 14 on sociology!) but this didn't eventuate—either the author did not deliver the promised manuscript or at some stage the decision was rescinded.
4. Deceased geographers such as Peter Scott and Oskar Spate suffer the same fate as the majority.
