Abstract
The library at the Melbourne Cricket Club was founded 120 years ago. It has built a reputation as a library specialising in sports history, and has continued to develop as the club itself grows. It is now professionally staffed, but still uses volunteers. The collection is currently being catalogued on computer. The library has a number of rare books, valuable collections and a highly specific classification system.
