Abstract
Between 1954 and 1960 the Taft Australianism Scale was developed empirically to discriminate between socio-political attitudes held by Australians and by immigrants from Europe. A review is presented of a number of studies that have been conducted since the Scale was first published which indicate that it still discriminates with almost un-diminished power between the criterion groups. This is so, despite changes in the types of immigrants, and despite continued interaction between the immigrants and Australians.
