Focus on training in psychology

The undergraduate curriculum in psychology

Pages 178-180 | Published online: 28 Sep 2007

Abstract

It is argued that a number of psychology's problems arise from the use of the same name for the discipline and the profession. This leads to inapproporiate policies with respect to each. The rest of the article analyses the relationship which should exist between these two meanings of psychology and considers the education of undergraduates both in relation to these two domains and in relation to the establishment of high standards and high standing for professional psychology.
