Abstract

The advisability of upgrading the educational requirement for psychologist registration from four to six years has recently been the subject of considerable debate. Previous research has revealed that employers, senior psychologists, and students support such a reform. This study examines the views of the members of Australian psychologist registration boards on the issues of six-year education and the content of the first four years of education. Possible problems arising from the introduction of a six-year educational requirement are discussed and solutions proposed.
