Jesus and “Sidon” In Matthew 15/Mark 7

Pages 264-278 | Published online: 25 Jul 2013

Summary

The role of “Sidon” in the Pericope of the Canaanite Woman is far from clear. If the name is read as (Beth-) Saida(n), which is quite possible, the geography of the story becomes much more plausible. This instance has not been dealt with in M. Black's Aramaic Approach.
