Summary
To some extent there is agreement as to the meaning of Luke's information in Acts 11,26, that Jesus' disciples in Antioch were named ‘Christianoi’. Still, some questions remain unanswered and demand further investigation. Th. de Kruijf analyses Luke's vocabulary and the remote and immediate context of his information in order to determine the setting in which this designation (mainly used by outsiders) originated.
