Abstract
1. Egg weight data from 408 laying hens of different breeds subjected to three dietary treatments were regressed on age assuming an asymptotic relationship of the form y = A — Brt where y is egg weight and t is age.
2. Characteristics of the curves were analysed with respect to breeds and diets.
3. The residual standard deviations of egg weight about the regression lines of this form were consistently found to be close to 2 g.
