ABSTRACT
Two hundred and thirteen individuals were typed using PAGIF and starch with no discrepancy between the results obtained with the two techniques. Discrepancies were observed however in typing some nineteen postmortem PGM-1 samples.
The artificial production of a 2+1+ from a 1+ was obtained after the incubation of postmortem blood with lactic acid. This transition could not be reproduced with blood from a living person or with postmortem blood without added lactic acid and could not be detected using starch gel electrophoresis.
