ABSTRACT

Five young mental patients died suddenly within minutes or hours after haloperidol administered either orally or intramuscularly. Autopsies and toxocologic studies failed to explain these unexpected deaths. The possibility of an unusual individual susceptibility to the action of the drug is not excluded.

RÉSUMÉ

Cinq jeunes malades mentaux sont morts subitement quelques minutes ou quelques heures après que de l'haloperidol leur eut été administré par voie orale ou intramusculaire. L'autopsie et la toxicologie ne sauraient expliquer ces morts subites. On n'exclut pas la possibilité que les sujets étaient particulièrement susceptibles à l'action de cette drogue.
