The Identification of Trout and Salmon Bloods on the Basis of the Enzyme, Superoxide Dismutase Observed by Isoelectric Focusing

Pages 152-157 | Received 01 Oct 1982, Published online: 22 Nov 2013

ABSTRACT

A method is described for the identification of different species of fish within the Salmonidae family to be found in the United Kingdom. The technique relies upon a combination of an immunological test and on the electrofocusing patterns of the enzyme dismutase from the red cell. This technique should provide useful information in fish poaching cases.
