ABSTRACT
The Canadian Postal Money Order is a negotiable document widely used by the general public. The issuing of Postal Money Orders has grown to a $1.2 billion business. The knowledge relative to their production, distribution, imprinting and recording is vital to any meaningful document examination. The primary concern of this paper is to examine those features which are characteristic of a genuine Money Order which has been subjected to alteration, rather than the actual counterfeiting of the entire document.
