The Classification of Automotive Paint Primers Using the Munsell Color Coordinate System—A Collaborative Study

ABSTRACT

This paper presents the results of a collaborative study which asked thirty examiners from across the country to color code given sets paint samples using the Munsell Matte Collection of color chips. The range of color coordinates that could be routinely expected when the same sample was color coded by chemists in different laboratories is discussed.
