Elimination of Ethanol in Humans

Pages 182-196 | Received 01 May 1984, Published online: 22 Nov 2013

ABSTRACT

This review is intended as a reference source on the rate of elimination of ethanol in humans and on factors which may influence the rate. Much of the literature dealing with elimination rates suffers from flaws in experimental design. Fructose appears to be unique as a substance capable of measurably increasing the rate of ethanol metabolism.
