Modifications proposed to the Canadian Society of Forensic Science Alcohol Test Committee: October 2014 to October 2019

Since September 2009, the Alcohol Test Committee (ATC) has identified proposed modifications to approved equipment through publication in the Canadian Society of Forensic Science Journal. From October 2014 to October 2019 decisions made by the ATC on proposals for modifications submitted by manufacturers were as follows.

Approved instruments

  1. The DataMaster DMT-C with software version ‘43399 2019/05/23’ continues to be an approved instrument as originally approved by the Attorney General of Canada.

  2. An Intox EC/IR II, with internal enhancement module only, continues to be an approved instrument as originally approved by the Attorney General of Canada.

Approved screening devices

  1. The Drager Alcotest 6810 with firmware version 4.09 and software version 1.98.11 (masking for BACs less than 10 mg%) continues to be an approved screening device as originally approved by the Attorney General of Canada.

  2. The Alco-Sensor FST modified with fuel cell A continues to be an approved screening device as originally approved by the Attorney General of Canada.

  3. The Alco-Sensor FSTs with modified firmware version 555-AEA and modified software version 556-D (warn threshold level of 49 mg%), and firmware version 555-AEA and modified software version 585-C (warn threshold level of 59 mg%), continues to be an approved screening device, as originally approved by the Attorney General of Canada.

  4. The Alco-Sensor FST modified with firmware version VS000555-AEB and configuration VS000728-B continues to be an approved screening device, as originally approved by the Attorney General of Canada.

  5. The Alco-Sensor FST modified firmware version 555-AEB and configuration 729-A (warn threshold level of 49 mg%) and modified firmware version 555-AEB and configuration 730-A (warn threshold level of 59 mg%) continues to be an approved screening device as originally approved by the Attorney General of Canada.

Approved blood containers

There were no proposed modifications to Approved Containers during this time period.

There were no proposed modifications to Approved Equipment that were rejected during this time period.
