SUMMARY
Diploid nucleus in the teliospore migrates into the promycelium or germ tube where it undergoes meiosis. Sporidia are uninucleate or binucleate in typical germination. In atypical germination the two arms of the bifid germ tube are binucleate. Conidia are uninucleate or binucleate. Parasitic hyphae in the xylem are initially dikaryotic and becomes diploid after karyogamy. Sporogenous hyphae in the phloem as well as young and mature spores are uninucleate and diploid.
