A Primary Monosomic for Chromosome 5 in the Tomato

SUMMARY

A tomato plant primarily monosomic for chromosome 5 was found in the Fi of a cross made with pollen of « Moneymaker » treated with thermal neutrons. This is the third one known in L. esculentum, after haplo-11 and haplo-12, and they now cover the three short and metacentric chromosomes.
