SUMMARY
The present study analizes the frequency of SCEs (Sister Chromatid Exchanges) in 21 goats using FPG method. The average values for SCEs are calculated by metaphase and by chromosome for each animal, obtaining a mean of 7.34 SCEs/metaphase. The relationship between the different types of exchanges and the mean value of total SCEs per metaphase was also studied, being noticeable that there is a highly positive correlation between double or intersticial exchanges and total frequency of SCEs/metaphase. The existence of a non-significant negative correlation between sister chromatid exchanges and cell proliferation speed found in each culture was also observed.
